Originally built in 1837, the former White House Inn is chock full of history and right in the middle of all Harpers Ferry has to offer! The back patio is a dream for outdoor dining, and from there you can even catch a glimpse of Maryland Heights through the trees. The front porch overlooks Washington Street and is a lovely place to decompress after a hike on the A.T. or a bike ride on the C&O towpath, both of which you can begin and end right at your doorstep.

Perfect property for 5 adult women who love to have their own room! Plus each of us could have our own bathroom! Lots of good gathering space but plenty of places for solitude. Great hiking. Awesome stay

This one of my favorite airbnbs. The pictures just do not do it justice! It is so beautifully appointed, totally remodeled, but it keeps with the history of the home, with architectural charm and luxury fixtures and details. I felt like I was staying at a high-end hotel, uncluttered with beautiful clean bathrooms, folded, fluffy, white towels on the bed and crisp, white sheets and bedding. We stayed with a group of six friends that all came together to celebrate my 50th birthday. The location was perfect, we walked to restaurants, cafes, shops and great hiking. We did not have to get in our car all weekend. They have delicious gourmet coffee to make in the mornings and a well appointed kitchen if you want to cook and eat in. All of the furniture is cozy, so you can sit and talk for hours, even the dining room chairs are cozy for long dinner conversations. I am so happy we stayed here for my 50th birthday, it was above and beyond anything I could have hoped for or imagined.

Hosts were very helpful, their online guidebook tells you everything you need to know. Perfect stay, highly recommend! Even had a sweet visitor (5-point buck) in the neighboring side yard. We are looking forward to staying with Mountain Momma Cabins again!

We had a wonderful weekend at Mountain Mama's White House Inn. The property is so well maintained! The house itself is spacious with amazing character. It is furnished beautifully. The kitchen is well-supplied and very clean. The wifi is easy to connect to and essential! AC worked great as our stay overlapped with a heat wave. We enjoyed the short walk into town. Mountain Mama has a fantastic digital guidebook with recommendations for local restaurants, shops and things to do! Our stay in Harpers Ferry was truly elevated due to the incredible Mountain Mama hosts and their beautiful property! Highly recommend!

The house was so much more beautiful and bigger in person than I realized from photos! The location is such an easy walk down into town. The host checked in with me several times to make sure I was doing okay and didn't need anything. Would book again!
Mountain Mama was really helpful when construction started on a
Mountain Mama was really helpful when construction started on a lot next to the place we were going to stay. She accommodated us at a different location so our trip would remain peaceful and enjoyable. The White House is beautifully historic and well maintained. The beds in all the rooms were so comfortable and inviting, and we enjoyed unwinding in the living room after our days of hiking. We also walked to dinner at Snallygasters, breakfast at Bolivar Bread, and music at the Barn (highly recommend all). Walking in the other direction brought us to shops and a late lunch spot - and the historic district. AND we walked to our hiking trails from our AirBnB - which was great. You'll love staying here.

My friends and I loved our stay! My group included seven adults and two kids from four different households. We loved the historic feel of the house, and it was bigger than I expected. We had more than enough space. Each household had its own bathroom. We loved being able to sit comfortably at the dining table together and the kids had lots of room to play. We went on a couple hikes, and both trailheads were within a short driving distance. (One trail was actually walking distance, but we didn’t want to add another mile to the hike with two kids.) When we had issues with the TV, the host responded with the fix. We very much enjoyed our stay.

The kitchen was so well stocked with supplies making our one dinner in easy, especially with the grill right outside. We ate out at some local restaurants and were pleased with the choices available. Not to underscore the history and trails of the area in the mild winter temps we had, we had a great day exploring by the water. The host does mention that WiFi can be spotty at times, which it was but did not impact us all too much. We did have a heating issue upon arrival to the home and one phone call later, the owner and another gentleman came to the rescue and resolved it for us. 10/10 for this space, highly recommend!!!

You can tell they’ve spent the time and effort to update certain things (HVAC, dishwashers, & fixtures were all premium) while still keeping the most charming historical elements (stained glass, mantles, transoms, hardwood). We especially enjoyed the two claw foot bathtubs for soaking after a hike and the spacious kitchen.
I would 100% stay here again and if the home were to ever go on the market would strongly consider putting in an offer myself!

We actually used the kitchen for dinner and it was well-equipped, nice appliances, pots and pans, knives, etc. Works really well for groups since the bedrooms have their own bathrooms. The hosts are very organized and were quick to address a small issue we had. We hope to get some friends together and come back to Harper's Ferry sometime soon and if we do we definitely would want to stay here again.

Sister Trip
Harper’s Ferry was the destination chosen for our annual sister trip. This property fit our needs! It is conveniently located near historic Harper’s Ferry with access to the AT and other hiking trails. The house was comfortable with more than enough room for our group of five. We enjoyed mornings on the front porch, walking to the sites, and relaxing in the evenings.

We rented this home to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday! Everything was excellent! The house is clean and historic. It is upgraded to have modern appliances and facilites while maintaining the historic legacy of the building. We did exchange messages with the management folks, and they were very responsive and helpful. All things consifered, we really enjoyed a great weekend of lazy river tubing and kayaking/winery visiting with the town of Harper's Ferry being right outside our door. Would recommend!

First Timers at Harpers Ferry
Walking distance to town even though one way was a big hill, it was still convenient. The house is wonderfully appointed with the applainces and grill to cook big meals for a big extended family. Lots of bathrooms. You can't go wrong, My 5 star ratings are not inflated. This place really deserves them.

My sisters plan a getaway every year. This was by far the best!! The house was more than what we expected. The home was furnished with high quality items and every need was met. Communication was speedy with the owner. I would recommend this home over any 5star hotel.

What an incredible house! To actually find a 5-bedroom house for 5 people was unbelievable and the price was absolutely fantastic. A great location close to shops, restaurants, museums and close distance to some of the best vineyards in Loudoun County. The home offers modern amenities, it is very clean, and plenty of bathrooms. That was great! Definitely will come back to this house. The host is responsive and wants to make sure you have everything you need. Great, great place!

A great location close to shops, restaurants, museums and close distance to some of the best vineyards in Loudoun County. The home offers modern amenities, it is very clean, and plenty of bathrooms. Great old house, very nicely refurbished. Key sites in Harpers Ferry and Bolivar are within easy walking distance. Had a shower that was draining slowly but staff at Mountain Mama remedied in very short order. Great stay. Highly recommend!!

We loved staying here for our "sibling reunion"! Every room was well furnished, beds were comfortable, the bathrooms had a charming blend of old and new, and details were thought through (night lights, reading areas with good lighting, several nice big TVs!, books to read..). The kitchen was very well stocked with pots & pans, serving dishes, plates, utensils, etc, etc. There were even 2 dishwashers. The owners were very responsive and helpful. We even enjoyed a lovely fire in the fireplace! We didn't expect to bring our own coffee and condiments, but that was easily remedied. It was the perfect location for our family reunion. We'd stay here again for sure!

Harpers Ferry is such an awesome place to visit, rich with history and quite a lot to do. Plus it’s near everything that could possibly entertain someone. We have stayed in the area twice, both times during the winter months and we absolutely love it. This stay with Mountain Mama was hands down the best of the two experiences. The house is amazing, and located in the perfect place. The accommodations are top notch and the hosts are very communicative and prompt. To say it went seamless would not justify it properly. Highly recommended!!!

This house is perfect for a weekend getaway. It’s the perfect combination of a lovely old house, that has been updated with so many modern conveniences. The home has everything you could need. It is very well appointed in the kitchen, bathrooms, and bedrooms. The furniture is lovely and the decorating is very well done. In addition, if you have a larger group, there’s plenty of seating and different areas for everyone to hang out. The patio in the backyard is absolutely lovely, and every bedroom is unique and very comfortable. The front porch was a perfect place to sit outside while we caught up with each other, all the while sitting amidst so much natural beauty. Harpers Ferry is a short, walk down the street, and very easy to get to. We also enjoyed several nearby wineries that were outstanding, including Maggie‘s and Walsh‘s. we had a very minor issue that truly did not even need to be corrected while we were there, as we told our host, but they came, while we were out at the winery and fixed it. We were very happily surprised when we got back and saw that. Absolutely wonderful home and host! Five stars from all of us !

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Whitehouse Inn in Harpers Ferry! We found the house to be even better than the pictures indicated. AMAZING LOCATION and AWESOME HOUSE
Two families with kids ages ranging from 2-14 stayed here for a long fall weekend. The weather was beautiful and I can't say enough about what a lovely time we had at White House Inn. The home had plenty of sleeping options and is would be great for several couples or 2-3 families. 3 out of 5 bedrooms had an en suite bathroom. The hallway bathroom was shared by two bedrooms. The bedrooms are large and the master had a full sized futon in a side sitting area. The beds were all very comfortable and I slept great. The dining room table was large and let us seat all 9 of us and it could have easily seated a few more.
The location couldn't be beat. It was a 5 minute walk to the "downtown" cute shopping and restuarant area. It was easy to start hiking on the AT right from our door so no need to drive anywhere. There are grocery stores no more than a 10 minute drive. Other towns within 15-20 also have great restuarants if you want to venture outside of Harper's Ferry for a night.
This will definitely be our first choice for our next stay in HF. 5 stars all around!
