What a view! This mountain cabin was the perfect retreat for our girls weekend… we wanted a peaceful spot to hang out, do some crafts, play games, and share stories around the fire. We couldn’t have asked for a better spot to do this with incredible views of the river! We even went on a little hike at Harpers Ferry to enjoy the end of fall.
Mountain Mama’s house was INCREDIBLY clean, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay – cozy beds, plenty of towels, a stocked kitchen, a fire pit, and tea bags and coffee to brighten our mornings. It is in a neighborhood setting, a the host really prioritizes keeping it a peaceful spot so do not book if you are looking for a house for a ~fun~ (read: loud) weekend.

Enjoyed our stay and the view was excellent, trees were in full color for fall. Communication with property managers was prompt and courteous. House was well maintained and clean. Appreciated the coffee. Suggestion would be to have leaves swept from deck before arrival or provide a broom to sweep leaves from deck and porch. Would definitely recommend and will rebook if back in the area.

The house was very comfortable and exactly as described. The back deck was a lovely place to just hang out and enjoy watching the wildlife on the river. Very quiet and peaceful getaway.

I can’t say enough about this cabin, sitting on top
I can't say enough about this cabin, sitting on top of a cliff above the Potomac way up before it gets wide and busy in DC, where blue herons and falcons and canadian geese go about their business. The river is so clear you can see fish from the back deck. We all agreed we wished we could be in the river, but none of us wanted to chance walking down to it (it's steeeeeeeep). Talk about a magical spot.

Be sure to bring your own firewood because a fire in the woods in the dead quiet is a blast. and Smores are delicious.

Host was proactive and communicative throughout the stay providing information on things to do and places to dine. The house was located a short drive to Berkeley Springs, Harper’s Ferry, Williamsport and Hagerstown. I’d definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for beautiful scenery and a convenient location.

What an absolute great location overlooking the Potomac river. The deck overlooking the river provided many views of nature with dear playing on the islands with eagles and hawks flying by. Very roomy cabin the first floor is laid out perfectly for relaxing with the family.

Stayed in Mountain Mama’s cabin for three nights with my brother to share some precious time. Our cabin far exceeded expectations…clean, well decorated, river views watching bald eagles fly by ….all excellent. Mountain Mama’s had excellent communication and accessibility..even their own app. All their houses look amazing. Will return again.

Absolutely beautiful home with an incredible view. We visited before spring had really sprung, and even surrounded by brown trees I couldn't stop looking out the plentiful windows. Beds were very comfortable, bedrooms spacious. Heating system was more than up to the task of keeping the place warm during some very chilly nights. We especially enjoyed the wood stove. Initially I wished that there was a TV in the living area (TV with sofa seating is in the main floor bedroom), but it was actually helpful in minimizing screen time. We would absolutely stay here again. My son said he prefers it to our house!

Lovely weekend getaway! We loved the deck off the back and the space overall was beautifully decorated and peaceful. We felt super safe and had a memorable weekend. Two things to note, it would be great if there was wood on-site for the fire pit and wood stove. Also, the hot water ran out after about 15 minutes. We’re not sure if it was a fluke but just staggered our showers for the rest of the weekend and had no trouble.

While a bit steep to hike down to, the cabin offers a cozy interior that invites you to sit on the deck and bask in the glory of nature. Instructions from our host were clear and the check in/check out process was smooth. Would absolutely stay here again.

We loved our stay! It was a perfect little getaway. The house is beautiful and exactly as described, and we really enjoyed the outdoor spaces. We probably spent 80% of our time on the deck watching birds and deer by the river. Highly recommend!

Wonderful River Getaway
Lovely location, great cabin, and easy check-in. This was a wonderful stay between the good service and the place itself. We had two lovely evening fires and enjoyed watching eagles and deer on the deck. Each bedroom was lovely and the design of the place is great. Would definitely return.

The house had beautiful views of the Potomac river and was located in gorgeous wooded surroundings that were quiet and peaceful. It's a short drive to shopping and the C&O Canal Trail. There's copious check-in information and a few extra steps after making the reservation, but nothing too complicated. Communication is mostly over text message with the person making the reservation, so keep that in mind if you're traveling in a group or with any international guests. The HVAC systems were a little confusing to navigate, and there weren't any screens on the windows or doors, but that wasn't much of an issue when we stayed. The kitchen was well-sized, though missing some small appliances and kitchenware. If you need a toaster, hot water kettle, citrus juicer, liquid measuring cups, or blender, you should bring your own. I would absolutely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a restorative vacation.

We absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Peregrine's Perch - Cliffhanger! The view is the gem of this place! Loved the coziness of the cabin. The kitchen was fantastic and seemed recently updated. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean. The only downside was that there was no shower/bath on main floor. I would highly recommend this place especially for scrap book enthusiasts like us. Plenty of space to work, relax, plays some games, and reconnect with friends. would defnitely go back.

Really enjoyed a solo retreat here. The house is gorgeous. Loved the decor and the furniture. The styling is impeccable. The views from the house are phenomenal and the place is outfitted with a nice deck, a grill, and fire pit. Kitchen had everything I needed as well and bed was nice and comfortable. Only downside was that the main bedroom did not warm up on the days/nights I was there. The rest of the house was toasty but not that room, so I ended up sleeping in the second bedroom. Also nice, but it meant that a large section of the house went unused.

If you are looking for a quite time to rest and recuperate look no further. The view was just so serene. The house was super clean, modern, and cozy! A quick drive from DC. The check in/out was a snap. We will definitely be back!

I found the perfect, dreamy place to escape and reconnect
I found the perfect, dreamy place to escape and reconnect with nature along with myself. This property is absolutely stunning! I was immediately impressed from the moment I turned in to the driveway and saw the house come in to view. The landscape although it was the fall time, clearly was well thought out along with the fire pit area with unique style cedar chairs, sitting area, to the decking. Perfectly designed! Upon entering inside the cabin, I was taken back by the almost 180 degree views of the Potomac River, surrounding rolling hills and landscape. Once I began looking around I noticed all of the attention to details. The comfortable, trendy furniture, pillows, books, artwork and the kitchen… wow! I loved the countertops, stove, fridge, toaster and microwave. The kitchen has absolutely everything you need to whip up a gourmet meal for the entire family. I also loved the separate TV/bedroom area from the main area. I found it refreshing waking up to that view, building a little fire and enjoying a cup of coffee while meditating without any distractions from a TV. The Bedrooms are very cozy including the comfy mattress, soft sheets and comfortable pillows. I love all of the little details found in every room. including the lighting. My girlfriend and I especially loved the make up mirror in the front bedroom. And let’s not forget the updated bathroom upstairs with radiant floor heating . A must have on a cold, blustery night. No detail was missed here. We had everything we needed to make our stay one of the best experiences ever! Our Host was very responsive to all of my questions including adding another night. I highly recommend this property and I can’t wait to return or book a stay at one of their other properties.

The only thing we didn’t use were the outside amenities, deck and fire pit, because of the low temps and race, but the set up looked great for a staff with some warmer weather. We might need to come back and check it out again!

The kitchen is well equipped. Everything in the cabin looks fresh and new. The bedrooms upstairs are spacious and share a bathroom. We were pleased to find a washer and dryer down in the basement. This was an excellent spot to just relax and enjoy nature. We hardly left the cabin.

The house is well designed AND comfortable. It’s an open- living space, which makes it easy to connect whether in the kitchen, living or dining room. The master on the first floor is really spacious, and the two bedrooms on the top are super cute and perfectly sized. If we meet in this part of the country again, this home will be a great spot to stay!
