We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Lake View Retreat. Great place to get away, enjoy a laid-back comfort of a nice home. There was just the two of us, we cooked, enjoyed morning Coffee on the front pouch and the view of the lake. spent some time on the back deck enjoying some wildlife and reading time.
This would be a wonderful place for a large family group to spend sometime together, three floor layout is wonderful for milt-family.

This home was beautiful! Super clean and very aesthetically pleasing! The beds were so comfy! There’s a lake right in front of the home, which is members only but you can purchase a day pass. We were 20 mins away from Harper’s ferry which was our goal destination. 15 mins away from closest grocery store and restaurants! There’s also a casino near by!

It had plenty of room for our family of six. It is well taken care of. It is in a nice wooded community. The master bed was very comfortable. It has a nice game area in the basement.

It was within walking distance to the lake but definitely not close to restaurants or shopping so plan accordingly. Checking in and out was super easy. We would definitely stay here again.

The house was so much more then we could have
The house was so much more then we could have ever expected, it was absolutely beautiful, close to an amazing lake and the host was amazing, I was a pain in the a$$ tenant on this one which is not normal for me but just had a rough few days and she answered everything I asked quickly, effectively and without judgement which was so helpful as I was already off my rocker with 2 kids and a MIL all acting like 2 year olds 🤣 absolutely would love to go back there was an amazing little private beach club within walking distance and everyone there was just as friendly and easy to talk to it was an amazing get away!

The home was comfortable with several spots for three friends
The home was comfortable with several spots for three friends to gather, (and is easily roomy enough for a larger group). We especially enjoyed the front deck with a little lake view. Biking from Shepherdstown was fun. The food at Lake House is simple yet tasty!

Comfortable retreat
This property was a perfect place to stay for our group. While it was a little out of the way, it suited our needs, was clean, and very comfortable. The owners made quick communication with them easy. Definitely recommend!

The house was just what we wanted, very clean, comfortable, and well appointed. We really enjoyed our day trip to Harpers Ferry, walking around the town and learning about the history. Great location with lots to do!

Out of all of my Airbnb stays, this was the best. I give 10 stars! The home was immaculate with beautiful surroundings and everything needed for a comfortable stay. I will be making this location my home away from home when I need a weekend getaway!

We had a girls fitness retreat at this house, and we had such a blast! The space was perfect for us to play some games, do some fall activities, and even walk to the local bar down the road. We HIGHLY recommend going to karaoke night at that bar, the owners are AMAZING! Overall, the hosts were friendly, checking in with us, and making sure we felt welcome. Our family spent a weekend at the cottage. It was both beautiful and clean. The porch was amazing and you can get a peek of the lake from it. They provided coffee beans for 2 days so that worked perfect for us.
We had 6 guest (4 teenagers and 2 adults). We had plenty of room to spread out. There was also plenty of TV sitting in the living room so the kids didn’t have to sit on the floor.
The beach club is a 5 min walk. You can get a day pass for $10 adult/$5 kids. We spent all day there hanging out on the beach, renting kayaks and eating in there restaurant. We did head into Harpers Ferry for several hours but returned to the Mountain Beach Club since it was a perfect fit for the kids.
We definitely will be back!

This home was perfect for a weekend getaway from the hustle & bustle of DC. My family celebrated Father's Day there with our two daughters (2 & 7 months) and it was such a great find! The basement kept my 2 year old entertained when we needed to be indoors, but otherwise the area is so perfectly located to Harper's Ferry, Hillsboro, Purcellville, and Winchester that we felt like we were in the ideal spot for exploring all the towns nearby! The house is spacious, clean & has comfortable beds. We loved visiting the lake at sunset and enjoyed the views. Two small downsides: Lake access is part of a private members-only club, and our reservation portal didn't include any details on membership, so I would not anticipate spending a full day at the lake. The management was overly communicative - requiring lots of extra forms and sending several texts. This was both stressful and annoying, but wouldn't deter me from booking again in the future

My stay was great! Everything was clean throughout the house as well as spacious. Got to see some chicken wonder in the backyard from the neighbors but I didn’t mind. If you do out the back yard door though the door handle you have to pull up to open and it you close the door all the way once you’re outside you kind of lock yourself out but the walk around back up front isn’t bad so didn’t really bother me.
The master bathroom with the whirlpool tub was questionable, I used it but once I turned on the motor there was black specks everywhere idk where it really came from (maybe the jets hadn’t been used in a while?)
Otherwise the place was very comfy and cozy. Kitchen pantry is well stocked with spices and seasonings.
Would book again.

Great get away
The property and booking was great. Clean, roomy, comfortable beds and living space, games for the kids and the fire pit was a hit! The only downsides were that we went Mon-Wed and the Mountain Lake Club was closed Mon-Tues which is where you need to go to fish and boat on the lake by the house. There were also leftover liquor bottles in the pantry so if you’re bringing teenagers or others who shouldn’t drink, be aware:) Otherwise, a fantastic place to unplug.

The only downsides were that we went Mon-Wed and the Mountain Lake Club was closed Mon-Tues which is where you need to go to fish and boat on the lake by the house. There were also leftover liquor bottles in the pantry so if you’re bringing teenagers or others who shouldn’t drink, be aware:) Otherwise, a fantastic place to unplug.

We enjoyed the home and had an excellent experience until the hottest day of the year arrived and the AC upstairs didn’t work. We purchased a fan, but are a family of 5. Wish the AC hadn’t malfunctioned as it was incredibly hot upstairs. But otherwise, house was beautiful, equipped with everything needed, quiet and relaxing. Plenty of room for kids to play- in basement or basketball outside.

We were looking for a peaceful place to come back to after driving around all day house hunting. This fit the bill! Wonderful scenery, awesome nature setting, and reasonable commute to most anywhere we wanted to go. Really enjoyed the stay.

I had a great stay with a group of 6 ladies. We appreciated plentiful seating in the dining and living areas. The kitchen was a nice set up. It is sparse on utensils, so if you plan to cook a lot, bring along whatever is a must-have! There was a nice supply of spices in the pantry, which is always good to have. We did find the house stayed a bit cold, even with the heat running, so you may want to bring along some snuggling blankets if you plan to hang out inside during cold weather. The blankets on the beds are very thin, but one of the rooms has some extras. Host was very responsive. We would stay here again.

Stayed at the lake house cottage for the week to go to the Harry Potter forbidden forest experience. The house was beautiful you have the view of the lake right out the front door very quiet neighborhood can’t rave about it enough definitely will be coming back!

Relaxing and close to hiking
The house was very nice and clean and contained anything you needed in the kitchen. The fireplace and jetted tub were great bonuses. Short drive to Harpers Ferry for food and hiking.

Our family had a fantastic time here at this cute
Our family had a fantastic time here at this cute little cottage! We loved being close to the lake beach and clubhouse and walked there a couple times either for dinner or for swimming. We saw a deer and her fawn a couple times while we were there and enjoyed the fire pit. We did have some trouble finding wood for the fire pit, but I spoke with the Mountain Mama manager and they are hoping to have wood available at the cottage in the future since it can be difficult to buy locally. The rooms were clean and well maintained and we never ran out of things to do in the area to keep everyone busy. We had great communication the whole way through that was very friendly and helpful. The kitchen has all the basics you probably need but would be improved with some additions like serving bowls, serving spoons, better knives, etc. Really nothing to complain about, just items that would make it better. Also, the master closet is locked and not usable. I understand that the owners would keep their things in there, so maybe a few hooks on the backs of some of the doors would suffice, for those of us that like to hang a few things, would be helpful. Truly a wonderful location and beautiful house! We'd love to come back sometime...

LOVED IT!
Was sparkling clean upon walk in. The location was so convenient to the lake and also to the Potomac and Shenandoah Rivers. It had everything we needed and lots of space. The hosts were attentive when we needed but otherwise didn't bother us and were super friendly. All the instructions were super organized. I plan to stay here again in the future.
