For a full refund Guest must cancel at least 21 full days prior to listing’s local check-in time. For a 50% refund, Guest must cancel at least 7 full days before the listing’s local check in time. If the guest cancels less than 7 days in advance or decides to leave early after check-in, the nights not spent will not be refunded.

We are committed to Rent Responsibly standards. This means we follow best-in-class guidelines to ensure you have a peaceful, safe and memorable stay with us. We care a lot about maintaining good relationships with our community, so we appreciate you following these “house rules” during your stay.
LODGING AGREEMENT: The guest booking the property must digitally sign a lodging agreement immediately following the reservation. The most important terms of the agreement are included below, and the guest may cancel a booking penalty free within 24 hours. If the lodging agreement is not completed with 24 hours then the reservation will be cancelled. The agreement will be sent via text message, so please be sure your phone number is correct before booking.
AGE 25 OR OLDER TO BOOK: The guest booking the property must be 25 years of age or older. We reserve the right to request a photo or scan of a government-issued photo ID. The guest who books must stay at the property–you may not book for others if you do not intend to stay at the property.
QUIET HOURS START AT 10 PM: Our property’s quiet hours of 10 pm to 6 am are required by county ordinance and enforced by local police. If the police respond to a noise complaint, every individual on the property may face a misdemeanor criminal charge and be subject to a fine by the county of $300. Failure to abide by the county noise ordinance will result in the immediate termination of the stay without refund.
Past noise complaints have always come from groups of 20-somethings. If you are booking for a group of people in their twenties and you think your group may want to play loud music at any time then do not book this property or cancel your reservation if you have already booked. Find another place for your trip so you do not have your trip terminated early and without refund.
NOISE MONITORING AND SECURITY CAMERA: We use devices that measure volume levels throughout the property (like a smoke detector but for noise) and allow us to respond to noise nuisances before the police are called. The devices are triggered primarily by sustained periods of loud music, not things like loud talking or laughter (which is encouraged!). The devices do not record audio and are 100% privacy compliant. We also have a security camera that records the front door and driveway. This allows us to facilitate remote check in and monitor the property between guests.
ACCIDENT FORGIVENESS: Every stay is backed by our accident forgiveness program. Guests will not be held responsible for damage caused during their stay (up to a maximum of $1,500) if 1) the damage is accidental, and 2) the damage is reported as soon as possible, and by no later than the check out time.
POSSIBLE BACKGROUND CHECK: We reserve the right to use a third-party to verify the guest’s identity and check criminal databases to finalize the reservation. Complete terms regarding the guest verification are provided in the lodging agreement, and can be provided sooner upon request.
NO PETS: No exceptions, sorry. Please don’t ask whether we can allow your perfectly house-trained, hypoallergenic labradoodle to join because we can’t 🙂
STEEP ROADS: Please be aware that the roads up to the top of the mountain can be very steep. In the snow it can be difficult to access the property. At all other times access is not difficult, but driving on steep mountain roads may make some people nervous. If that sounds like you, it might be better to reserve a property that is not along the top of the Blue Ridge. Steep mountain roads are often what it takes to get incredible views like the ones from this cabin, and those who can manage the drive won’t be disappointed!
REMOTE LOCATION: Please be aware that this cabin is a good 20 min drive from the nearest full-service grocery store. If you’re looking for seclusion, this is it! But if you prefer being close to store then this may not be the place for you.
EV CHARGING: We have partnered with Ok2Charge to provide Level 2 EV charging. Payment is required.
SNOW-INS: During the winter, four wheel drive, snow tires/chains, and a car with good clearance are HIGHLY recommended in the event of a snow storm or heavy rain, as there is a good chance that a significant snow storm could restrict access in and out of the cabin. You need to use good judgement as to whether to cancel a trip before it begins or leave the cabin early.
BUGS: This is a cabin in the woods–that means there are lots of bugs, especially in the summertime. Even if you are careful some of those bugs will find their way into the cabin. The best way to minimize the number of bugs inside is to keep doors and windows closed at all times. Please also carefully clean up the kitchen every night and securely package up all food.
WOOD STOVE: You are encouraged to use the wood stove as long as you do so carefully! Always keep the glass door closed unless you are actively putting logs inside the stove. The stove can get very hot, so be sure to keep small children away whenever a fire is burning. We do not guarantee there will be wood or fire starter there, so please plan to bring your own.
SMOKING: Smoking is never allowed inside the cabin. You may smoke outside as long as you clean up after yourself. You may not litter cigarette butts on the deck, in the yard, or anywhere else–butts must go in the trash after they have cooled off.
SHEETS: At the end of your stay you will be asked to strip the sheets off the beds that were used and leave the sheets on top of the beds.
WAIVER OF LIABILITY FOR USE OF THE HOT TUB: By using the hot tub you agree to follow all house rules associated with it and you release the owner of the property and the manager from all liability relating to injuries that may occur while using the hot tub, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.
SEPTIC SYSTEM: This cabin has a septic system. Grease and oil must never be allowed down any of the sink drains. Feminine hygiene products must be thrown away in a trash can and not flushed down a toilet. Never flush solid trash down the toilet or into a sink drain.
NO FIREWORKS: Fireworks are not allowed.
NO FIREARMS: Guests may not bring firearms or ammunition inside the house.
NO ILLEGAL DRUGS: Guests may not possess or consume any illegal drugs on the property, including cannabis.

Ahh!! It’s just a stunning cabin. It created the space for a perfect weekend for our family. We have a 26-year-old and a 23-year-old, and we were celebrating a 21-year-old. We arrived on Friday evening and shared apps and wine in the beautiful kitchen. I had many apps, and the kitchen was perfect for display. On Saturday, we had a driver take us to the local wineries, then returned to the house for dinner and a night of games. We played all the games in the basement and then shared the loft space for some board games. The beds were very comfortable, the front porch is perfect for morning coffee – we saw deer and turkey’s too. Just LOVED our stay!

We had an excellent time at this cabin. It was exactly as advertised. Very cozy, very secluded, an amazing view. I would strongly recommend if you are looking for a nice getaway for a few days (and use the wood stove…it makes the cabin very warm and gives it that firewood smell).

Great place and a great stay. The only issue we had was it took awhile to get the griddle ignited; we had to play around for about 15 minutes to get the igniter to work, but that was the only minor issue in an otherwise wonderful stay. The view is amazing, and the location served our needs perfectly. Communication was wonderful and we had a great time.

We enjoyed meals on the porch and watching the sunset over the valley. We were greeted by wild turkeys out front on one of the mornings. It is a good 30 minute drive to Harpers Ferry, so we opted to cook for one of the two nights that we stayed, but the kitchen is stocked with essentials. Note that Mountain Mama uses their own app for communication including a separate license agreement, which gave us pause at first.

Overall, the property had a lot of potential but needs more care and attention, especially on the outside. Enjoyed the front porch for sitting in the rocking chairs and watching wildlife and the sunsets. Location was quiet and remote.

This cabin was beautiful. Spotless when we walked in and very thiguhtfully and comfortably furnished. It was truly a home away from home. The sunset views from the west facing front porch is stunning. It was so fun driving up winding roads to get to this hidden gem. Would definitely stay here again.

Our stay was totally without incident and was absolutely peaceful. Deer roam the surrounding area and we were greeted by a turkey one morning! The house is beautiful inside and out, well furnished and stocked with everything we needed. Also great coffee! It is clearly very well managed and maintained. The EV charger was a very nice convenience. Our hosts were there if needed, but were entirely unobtrusive. The location is pretty remote, with lots of hiking possibilities, really beautiful countryside, but only about a half-hour drive to Harper’s Ferry and the confluence of the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers. We loved the house and the location, and highly recommend!

We were four family/friends away for a weekend of hiking and relaxation. The cabin is in a wonderful area with excellent prospects for exploring the outdoors. We hiked a small portion of the Appalachian Trail and also visited Harpers Ferry. We could have simply sat on the porch with a book as well, since the view is very relaxing. The host was attentive and helpful. Although our stay was short, we enjoyed our time at the cabin!

The only negative I have is that there were quite a few stink bugs in the living room. They mostly stayed in the windows. I know it’s a cabin in the woods but there were no other bugs that we noticed. Hopefully it was just an odd occurrence, as everything was very clean and nice.

Every need was met without asking. The view was incredible. We did not want to leave. I will have to give a high five on the handbook. One of the most simple yet detailed instructions for everything required. We will be staying there again.

Very nice cabin with all of the comforts of home. The game room was the highlight for the 4 kids we had with us. Since the pictures don’t do it justice, I will share. A full size high quality fooZball table, a top brand ping pong table and a Pop-A-Shot basketball game where two players can play against each other. Electronic with score keeping. The hot tub was a big plus too! Went horse back riding at Dark Spring Stables in Hillsboro and that was fun (20 mins away). Go to Harper’s Ferry downtown and visit shops, have food and visit the park. There are also many caverns around which are worth exploring. We went to Skyline Caverns which is less than an hour away. There are others near Harper’s Ferry too. Having the Appalachian trail right out the door was nice. We hiked multiple times. Highly recommend this cabin.

Great communication. Gorgeous space. Truly better than we even imagined and we were already excited. Everything you could need. Comfortable beds, great blackout curtains. Games in the basement were a blast. And the wood burning stove was a huge plus with our -20 arctic blast temps. Can’t wait to return!

We had an amazing time at this cabin, the bed was extremely comfy, the hot tub was definately needed with the winter weather but it was so nice! We highly recommend it! 10/10, we will definately be going back in the future!

Wonderful cottage near the mountaintop, tastefully furnished with large balconies facing the sunset and a jacuzzi for relaxation. We had little issues with the heating system but they responded super fast and fixed it remotely. Definitely a gem

We enjoyed watching the deer from the front porch and walking the fire road up to the AT. It’s a bit of a drive down the mountain to get anywhere, and 30 min to Harper’s ferry, but a great the excursion. The porch sunsets were fantastic, fire pit and hot tub a huge plus. It’s very secluded and quiet. All around a great stay.

The location was absolutely the best, you can see the mountains and the valley from the house. There was ample space for the 6 of us. The kitchen has plenty of utensils, Enough for cooking meals. The basement with ping ping and the hot tub outside were the best attractions. Communication & instructions were perfect and easy.

Beautiful property with great views and very private. Even with being in the middle of the woods, we were very impressed with the cleanliness and most of the bugs being kept outside for our stay.
