2025 New Year Events in Harpers Ferry

While Harpers Ferry isn’t your typical major “big-city” bash spot, you will find some delightfully charming small-town community-style ways to ring in the New Year. We’ve also included a few events in neighboring towns.
Music at The Barn of Harpers Ferry
- Doors open at 8 pm, December 31st
- 1062 W Washington St, Harpers Ferry, WV
An annual classic, and arguably the biggest celebration in town – you won’t find anything more quintessentially West Virginian than the boot-stomping New Year’s Eve party at The Barn of Harpers Ferry.
Featuring music by Mark Cullinane and a headline performance by Brandon Wayne & His Lonesome Drifters, this modern-meets-vintage quartet delivers a high-energy mix of original songs and classic country, rockabilly, hillbilly boogie, and western swing.
Doors open at 8 p.m., with food and music starting at 9 p.m. Early-bird tickets are $50 through December 15, then $60. If you’re looking for an authentic, lively, roots-music celebration to ring in the new year, this is the place to be.
Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races
- Show starts at 10:30 pm, December 31st
- 750 Hollywood Drive, Charles Town, WV (20 minutes from Harpers Ferry)
The Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races is a popular spot for a more lively NYE. They typically host a late-night show featuring live music, an elevated buffet, and drink/party specials. If you don’t mind a more energetic, casino-style vibe, this is probably the closest “big event” you’ll find near Harpers Ferry for New Year’s.
The big event this year will be “That Arena Rock Show”- an ode to high energy Rock n’ Roll and a guaranteed fun sing along that will have you leaving 2025 in the merry dust! You can find tickets here.

For a great spot to view the Laser Show, head over to the Old Courthouse Civil War Museum, where the light show runs from 6 p.m. to midnight. From around 7 to 10 pm, street performers keep the crowds entertained.
The night ends with the beloved Apple Drop at the corner of Loudoun and Boscawen Streets!

Grab a Camera and Walk the Riverfront & Towpath
Are you an amateur photographer looking for the perfect subject or backdrop for the family Christmas card? The C&O Canal Towpath and riverfront trails offer a great opportunity to spot wildlife, icy river vistas, and quiet stretches of forest.
